Stéphanie Plantation
Bed & Breakfasts 1862 Bushville Highway

Today, Stéphanie extends from Bayou Tèche to LA-31 (Bushville Highway) but her story began some 250 years ago with the original owner, Martin Duralde, a French Basque, during Louisiana’s Spanish administration. In 2020, Stéphanie is opening to the public as a bilingual bed-and-breakfast, welcoming locals and visitors alike as a Louisiana heritage home for staycations, vacations, and events. Staying true to its mission as a #FrancoResponsable, or bilingual business, owners Ken Douet and Rich Howes, or “guardians” as they prefer to be called, work weekly with other local FrancoResponsable businesses and schools, particularly French Immersion programs to build a new kind of experience for families, students, and our visitors. As Louisiana opens herself up to the world, Stéphanie is positioning herself to meet the call of both locals and visitors alike by providing a beautiful space to stay overnight, reconnect with one another, and grow our local bilingual economy!
