Wednesdays, Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site, St. Martinville, - Creole Housekeeping, 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Visitors are invited to follow the site ranger on a walk through a 19th century Creole home. Aug. 15, Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site, St. Martinville - National Day of the Acadians, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The video Against the Tide - the Story of the Cajun People of Louisiana will be shown and tours of the Acadian Farmstead will be given to visitors at the site. The farmstead is a re-creation of a typical Acadian house and farmstead along the Bayou Teche in the 1800s. The tours will discuss how Acadians adapted to and lived in Louisiana.
